Coach trip 2026 | Floors Castle, Kelso
Updated: 29 April 2026

Join the Horti on our coach trip to Floors Castle in the Scottish Borders.
Floors Castle, situated near Kelso, is the centrepiece of the beautiful Roxburghe Estate and was constructed for the first Duke of Roxburghe over 300 years ago.
We have secured a generous 27% discount on entry to not only the Castle, but also the spectacular Victorian Walled Gardens and glasshouses, herbaceous borders and formal Millennium Garden.
There are also waymarked woodland and riverside walks to explore – and the Horti will pay for coffee & cake on arrival!
And because it’s a couple of hours away we have secured a luxurious 55-seater coach with on-board toilet from Allander Travel.
How to book
Go to our Booking form below to reserve and pay for a place.
Alternatively, we will be selling tickets at Killearn Country Market at the Horti stall on 2nd May and at our Plant Sale on 16th May – both at the Village Hall – unless all of the places have been taken.

Lunch
Lunch is at your own expense or you can bring your own.
The Terrace Café overlooks the Walled Garden and offers tasty seasonal menus created by the Castle chefs.
The Courtyard Café, nestled between the Castle and the Woodland Car Park offers a takeaway style menu.
Both cafés offer indoor and outdoor seating and are perfect for lunch or afternoon tea.
Gift shop
The Apple Shed Gift Shop and Pantry stocks a wide variety of gifts for the home and garden to suit every budget.
It is also the home of the “Floors Food” range, made by the Castle chefs.
On arrival
We’ll be met by a guide who will give a welcome talk, explaining where the facilities are and we will all be offered tea or coffee, plus scones or a tray bake.
The Castle
Begin by exploring the Castle — the largest inhabited house in Scotland. It was built in 1721 to designs by William Adam and greatly enhanced by William Playfair in the 1830s.
It’s a self-guided visit through the one-way system of rooms with information boards and staff to chat to. You will see outstanding paintings, porcelain, tapestries and furniture, and gain fascinating insights into the Roxburghe family history — you can spend as long as you wish here.
After the Castle you can visit the gift shop and café, before heading off to the gardens.
The Gardens
The set of gardens -- map below -- are a short 10 minute walk from the Castle and unite one of Britain's finest Victorian Kitchen Gardens with a stunning four-acre Walled Garden and formal Millennium Garden, featuring a French-style parterre.
An RHS Partner Garden, the four-acre space offers vibrant seasonal colour, from herbaceous borders to fruit-filled glasshouses.
Within the ancient walls, flowers, herbs, fruit and vegetables are grown, creating a garden that is both beautiful and productive.

You can pay for a ticket by Bank Transfer, by cheque or cash.
